Bianca Dantas

Bianca Dantas is an advertising major from the University of Fortaleza with a large interest in the filmmaking business. She has worked as an actress in over 10 movies and directed two short films: “Terceira Posição” and “Fútil”, showing great leadership and organizational skills. Bianca believes in changing the world and the life of people through the power of art and hopes to become a big film director one day, spreading important messages through movies. Dantas is an advocate for women’s rights and the LGBTQ+ cause, she hopes to spread those ideals through her work.

David Facó

David is a filmmaking undergraduate in the University of Fortaleza, focusing his studies in Executive Producing. His goal as a professional is to solve problems of local communities using the power of art, creating a better world one step at a time.

World Through The Eyes

A group of cinema undergraduates from Fortaleza is committing to teaching 16 free filmmaking workshops to deaf high school students and producing a short film with the participants from the previous classes in the same team. All workshops will be taught in Brazilian Sign Language with the help of interpreters.

Little Dreamers Foundation

Shantel Marekera is launching Little Dreamers Foundation in Harare, Zimbabwe to open a subsidized pre-school in Glen View 8 for low-income young girls whose guardians cannot afford to send them to local pre-schools. This gives young girls access to education despite their parents' economic status and helps them discover their potential at a tender age.

RefRights

Tanveer Jeewa is launching RefRights in Cape Town, South Africa. RefRights is building a software application for refugees, to alleviate the burden of organizations such as the Refugee Rights Unit. The app will identify the issues of the refugees and then provide them with letters addressed to authorities (with respect to their issues) informing them of the refugeesê rightsãin the process, reducing their travel and wait times and the associated costs.

Girl Child Project

Ousmane Ba is launching the Girl Child Project in Conakry, Guinea to address the massive gender education gap in Guinea by sending girls in Guinea to school, providing both financial support but also mentoring them to be leaders in their community.

Calabar Youth Council for Women's Rights Leadership Program

Kennedy Ezekie-Joseph is launching the Calabar Youth Council For Women's Rights (CYCWR) Leadership Program in Calabar, Nigeria to help teenage victims of female genital mutilation and domestic abuse reintegrate into society and become leaders by providing them with a year-long leadership training program, pairing them with mentors, and granting them access to volunteering and internship experiences to aid their professional development.

Write Your Future

Susana Machado is the founder of Write Your Future in São Paulo, Brazil. Write Your Future promotes the development of teenage orphans by addressing the many challenges they face through the support of psychologists. Along with therapy and support, the counselors will assess the children and the children will be provided with workshops to stimulate their different skills and interests so they can move towards career-readiness. The venture was recently selected among hundreds of projects in Brazil for design thinking follow-up in an eight-month program at the Instituto Jatobás.

Susana Machado

Susana Machado is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International Relations at São Paulo State University (UNESP). Since the age of 13 she takes part in debating events such as the first and second edition of the Harvard Model Congress Latin America. She graduated High School with honors and she attended the Advanced Studies Program in Politics, International Relations and Foundations of Philosophy at Brasenose College, Oxford University. At UNESP, Susana is the Secretary-General of the United Nations Model of São Paulo.
