Rutendo Chigora is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania from Harare, Zimbabwe. She is double-majoring in International Relations and Political Science because of her keen interest in international development and political economy. She is interested in pursuing a career in public policy and social impact. Rutendo is the founder of ZW Connect, an initiative that was born out of a desire to create economic opportunities for vulnerable communities in Zimbabwe by connecting them to the resources they need to meet their needs, and she firmly believes in the power of entrepreneurship and partnership for sustainable development. ZW Connect will launch its pilot project with during the summer of 2014 and Rutendo hopes that its success will champion the effectiveness of grassroots-level engagement for development. When she is not working on ZW Connect, Rutendo competes in College Mock Trial, works as a Resident Advisor, and is an Associate Editor for the Sigma Iota Rho Journal for International Relations.
